Blog post 5: Changes to my study program.

Well, right now I’m in my second year studying my major, so I can say that this major requires you to be a proactive and disciplined person, added to this its necessary to develop self-management. So, I'm gonna start with some things that I would like to change but that also you can improve a few of them by yourself and with your own work. 

I would like to increase the teaching staff and assistants in each class, because sometimes we need more attention in every personal process. In terms of curriculum, I think that would be very good for students include more classes about the story of Chilean theater. Added to this, I feel that vocal training is not having so much time, I believe that it's really important to put more attention on it. Also, I would include more English classes beyond level four.

Talking about workload, I think it’s fine but if you ask me, I would prefer to increase frequency of evaluation, specifically in classes of acting, not the theoretical ones, to have a better rhythm of work. I would like that this career could have more connection with the medium. I would carry the students' exams out of the university, maybe to other faculties or cities. 

Finally, the infrastructure and building of the Department of theater is very old and it's not possible to make big changes and renovations there. I would add more rooms, halls and better lights, with the purpose of having a bigger and appropriate place to develop the theater majors, actually, the faculty of arts in general. But this is a problem of the resources administration of the university. Right now the restrooms are in repair, which is good. The location of the Department isn’t the best, out there it's dangerous, especially at nights, so because of that, I would like that one day, the department of theater could be in another place.
